What makes the LAC/RAC systems better
Collision Avoidance systems have never really been designed for a crane. They have been designed around sensors for other applications that then got fitted to work on a crane. Either with the use of interface relays, external power supplies parts supplied loose to fit inside an existing panel…
The LAC series has been designed from the ground up only to work on a crane. All the connections are made to work with existing common control voltages of a standard crane. When installing a system that requires a reflector this can sometimes be very frustrating and a time consuming process.
As the crane moves up and down the runway it can skew and other systems can have their beam come off the reflector/target which then it won’t react as needed. The LAC series of systems don’t require a reflector as it reflects off natural surfaces and also has a 3° FOV so you have a little wiggle room in your target and don’t have to be dead on-line. Now the target can be the other crane's girder or the wall/structure itself.
Then with the LAC installed, due to the Wi-Fi interface you can now use your smart device or laptop to configure the slow/stop setpoints as well as see the live distance readings. There are also many nice features like a bypass button inside the webapp so you can move the crane to an area you need while it is triggering the anti-collision setpoints.
